In a national and European context, the city of Leiria is today an urban centre of undeniable potential. If the role it played throughout its past has naturally varied, a significant growth is noticeable since the beginning of this century, a consequence of the geographic situation it holds within the national territory. Nowadays the city has a structured urban fabric, the knowledge of which is of vital interest for all of those who enjoy it, whether they are responsible for its urban space management, or if they are the common citizen.
